Accomplishing Things 3 to 5 Times Faster.
In this video, I want to share with you how I accomplish things three, four, even five times faster than they used to.
How many times you find yourself doing something and then four, five hours later realizing that the day is over and nothing really was done? Especially now, in this world of distractions with social media sites, YouTube channel, new sites, friends, kids, you name it.
I work from home so I know what it’s like, especially when you don’t have accountability partners, when you don’t have your co-workers or anyone around you that would demand something from you.
So you at your own will and you have to get yourself to the point where you control your environment. So after trying many, many things finally came across something that really works well for me and here it is. I want to share it with you.
What I do is actually I concentrate my energy into one hour. That’s the time block I dedicate for a task. It doesn’t matter if the task is too big or too small or whatever. I just decide that one hour I dedicate to this particular task.
So initially, what I do is I break down this hour into three parts. First part is five to ten minutes. I take a glass of water to hydrate myself then I review my task or I review something motivational, could be my journal, it could be a video, I could maybe read something that would inspire me and focus or create a state of mind where I’m very pumped and I want to go and actually conquer it.
So once I do that, then the next five to 10 minutes I go in and I remove all the distractions that could possibly stop me. I shut down my phone, walk away from the computer, if it’s on the computer I shut down all the browsers and remove everything that could possibly disturb me. Then what I do is actually focus on the task.
I give it 30 to 40 minutes of concentrated energy to perform the task. I accomplish as much as possible. When I’m done, I actually take 5 to 10 minute break, and then I just repeat the same process.
When you take a break, take a walk, come back, drink water, review your task again, get motivated, and make sure no distractions, then put some energy again towards accomplishing the task.
Just that alone could accomplish things three to five times faster. Try it, especially try it for a few days and take note of what you accomplished and always refer to that and you will see what a difference it would make in your life.
